Review of the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930
Logitech G930 Review
I set out to review the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound to see if it met my gaming, movie watching, music listening and VOIP calling needs. So I designed a field test that would help me test the G930′s sound quality, voice quality, comfort and affordability, which will then determine if the headset is any good or not.
Sound Quality Test
First, I set out to test the sound quality. I tested the quality by using the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 as I would in a real life situation. For this test, it’s as if I just got the headset home and I was about to go about my regular gaming/listening/watching and calling activities. First, I jumped onto my favorite MMORPG and tested the sound quality of the 7.1 surround sound along with my voice quality as I spoke with other gamers during my campaigns. Then, I listened to my favorite music as though I would on any given day. I didn’t think as though I was testing anything. I just gauged whether or not I had the experience I believe I should have. Finally, I watch a movie from beginning to end.
When I was finished with each portion of the test, I immediately wrote down my findings. At the end of the entire field test, I found that, even though the headset is wireless, the sound is detailed and you can hear things that you normally wouldn’t hear in other headphones. In fact, the movie I watched, ‘Heat’ with Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino, I’d seen a million times. But I heard things in that movie that I’d never heard before. My voice, too, came through crystal clear. I was very pleased throughout the entire sound test.
I was surprised. I thought that the G930 would emit a bunch of static since it’s wireless but there was no static at all. I was very impressed.

Comfort Test
Next, I set out to test comfort. For this test, I wore the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 all day. Even when I wasn’t listening to the headphones, I wore them on my head. My plan was to mark the exact second when they began to feel uncomfortable and the very moment that I just had to take them off because I couldn’t take it anymore. With the Logitech G930, I managed to wear the headphones for six hours and even then I just noticed the pressure on my head. At no point did I feel like I needed to rip them off my head to throw at the wall.
Part of the reason why I was able to wear them for so long was due to the headset’s ergonomic design. It fits snugly on your head and there’s no pressure on your head like other headphones. I just began to feel them after six hours but even then I could have kept them on for much longer.
While I used the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930, I loved the way you can recharge it with a USB connection and that you can even recharge the headset while you’re using it.
The Drawbacks of the Logitech G930
I couldn’t finish this review without listing the cons or downsides I experienced during my field test. The first thing I noticed was that the microphone auto mutes when you move it away. While that may seem like a great feature to some, I found it annoying.
The only other downside I found was the price. It’s over $100, which is fairly expensive. But if you want quality, sometimes you have to pay for it.
Conclusion
All in all, I recommend the Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 for any gamers, movie watchers, music listeners or even Skype callers. It’s hard to come across a good headset, but I think Logitech finally nailed it on the head.
Should you decide to purchase the Logitech G930 be sure to spend some time to check the price online to find the best deal.
